Yoga & Pilates
Strengthen Your Body and Mind
Yoga and Pilates have many similar benefits, though their philosophies and founding principles are very different. Both sculpt your whole body and improve your mind-body awareness. Yoga is considered a lifestyle, whereas Pilates is a workout. Both practices focus on proper posture and positions to improve your flexibility, strength, and posture.
Yoga Classes
Yoga is thought to be a 5,000-year-old tradition. It was developed with the purpose of giving practitioners greater self-awareness, tension release, and personal freedom. Through regular practice of yoga postures, core strengthening exercises, breathing techniques, and deep relaxation you can increase core strength, posture, and flexibility, obtain greater awareness of body and mind, reduce stress and tension, improve breathing and overall health and quiet the body and mind.
We offer a variety of yoga classes designed to make the body strong and flexible; regular practice brings balance to the whole body.
Pilates Classes and Training
Pilates is a series of about 500 exercise and physical movements that are designed to stretch, strengthen and balance the body. A Pilates workout will focus on exercises that tone surface muscles and strengthen deep muscles in the abdomen and pelvic floor. Through the regular practice of Pilates, you can strengthen your core and important postural muscles, develop a “longer” and leaner body, improve overall health, coordination and circulation and create a balance between strength and flexibility.
Choose from regularly scheduled Pilates mat classes or employ a certified Pilates trainer to achieve greater results. The Pilates method will help you improve your flexibility and strength and develop control. Pilates teaches body awareness and good posture.
